East Tennessee Natural Gas, LLC after receiving indications of interest to expand its system to serve markets in northeastern Tennessee – has identified the facilities required for the expansion of the East Tennessee pipeline system to move substantial volumes of natural gas from the Appalachian supply basin to markets in northeastern Tennessee. The NET Project is anticipated to provide firm capacity with a transportation path from the point of interconnect between the Jewell Ridge Lateral and East Tennessee's mainline (Receipt Meter No. 50092) to delivery point(s) off East Tennessee's mainline located between the Jewell Ridge Lateral interconnect and the discharge side of the Flatwoods Compressor Station (Station No. 3306).

Proposed Detailed Scope of Work

  • Replacement of an existing 8-inch diameter pipeline with a new 24-inch diameter natural gas pipeline for approximately 9.3 miles in Washington County, Va. and Sullivan County, Tenn.; "Bristol Discharge".
  • Replacement of an existing 12-inch diameter pipeline with a new 24-inch diameter natural gas pipeline for approximately 2.37 miles in Sullivan County, Tenn.; "Fordtown Discharge".
  • Addition of approximately 7.76 miles of 24-inch diameter natural gas pipeline within its existing ETNG pipeline easements in Sullivan, Washington, and Greene Counties, Tenn., including piping modifications in Greene County, Tenn.; "Flatwoods Loop".
  • Construction of approximately 8.53 miles of new 24-inch diameter natural gas pipeline extension along an existing transmission line corridor in Greene County & Hawkins County, Tenn.
  • Modification of piping at Glade Springs Compressor Station 3311, Washington County, Va.
  • Modification of piping at Flatwoods Compressor Station 3306, Greene County, Tenn.

Next Steps

East Tennessee representatives are currently contacting and meeting with landowners to discuss the project and requesting survey permission to determine the impact of the NET Project on their property. East Tennessee plans on hosting several informational open houses in the local vicinities to the project to further inform the public and answer any questions about the NET Project.
