U.S. Transmission Expansion Projects

Egan Cavern #3 Expansion

  • Location: Egan Storage Facility, Acadia Parish, LA
  • Capacity: Increase of 8.0 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas storage
  • Status: Construction Underway
  • Ownership Interest: 50 percent Spectra Energy Transmission; 50 percent Spectra Energy Partners, LP
  • Project Completion Date: Phased in 2009-2012

HubLine/East to West Expansion

  • Location: Massachusetts and Connecticut
  • Length: 12.9 miles of new pipeline and 18.5 miles of replacement pipe
  • Capacity: 1.0 billion cubic feet per day
  • Ownership Interest: 100 percent Spectra Energy
  • Projected Completion Date: November 2009

J-2 Loop

  • Location: Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts
  • Scope: Approximately 2 miles of 14-inch diameter loop pipeline
  • Interconnects: NSTAR Gas Company
  • Ownership Interest: 100 percent Spectra Energy
  • Projected Completion Date: Fall 2009

Moss Bluff Cavern #4 Expansion

  • Location: Liberty County, Texas
  • Capacity: Incremental 6.5 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas storage
  • Status: Construction Underway
  • Ownership Interest: 50 percent Spectra Energy Transmission; 50 percent Spectra Energy Partners, LP
  • Project Completion Date: April 2011

Northeastern Tennessee (NET)

  • Location: Washington County, Virginia and Sullivan, Washington, Greene, and Hawkins Counties, Tennessee
  • Capacity: 150Mdth/day
  • Status: Stakeholder Outreach/ Surveys
  • Project In-Service Date: September 1, 2011

Northern Bridge

  • Location: Clarington, Ohio to Oakford / Delmont, Pennsylvania
  • Interconnects: Texas Eastern Transmission, LP and Clarington, Ohio supply point
  • Capacity: Up to 150 million cubic feet per day
  • Ownership Interest: 100 percent Spectra Energy
  • Projected Completion Date: November 2009

TEMAX and TIME III

  • Location: Ohio and Pennsylvania
  • Capacity: 455 million cubic feet per day
  • Projected In-Service Date: November 2010

Texas Eastern Appalachia to Market Expansion Program (TEAM)

  • Location: Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania
  • Scope: Multiple year supply connection and expansion program that can grow each year as the production grows
  • Capacity: Targeting 300 million cubic feet per day, but project can be scalable and sized to meet customer needs
  • Interconnects: 30 plus
  • In-service: TEAM 2012 capacity commencement date is targeted as early as November 1, 2012, with additional interest ramping up over the next few years as production efforts expand
  • Ownership Interest: 100 percent Spectra Energy
  • TEAM 2012 Binding Open Season November 17 through December 1, 2009

Texas Eastern ETX Expansion

  • The ETX Expansion proposes to enhance and facilitate cost-effective transportation of incremental East Texas and North Louisiana gas supplies to major U.S. markets in the Southeast, Midwest and Northeast.
  • The Texas Eastern ETX Expansion Project will provide customers a broad array of transportation options from receipt points in Texas Eastern’s East Texas rate zone, including supplies from the following growing production areas:
    • Haynesville Shale
    • Bossier Sands
    • Cotton Valley
    • James Lime

Dawn to Parkway/Kirkwall Transportation Expansion

  • Location: Southwestern Ontario
  • Elements: Addition of approximately 13.6 kilometres (8.5 miles) of 48” diameter pipeline (Brantford to Kirkwall, Ontario) and [up to] 45,000 hp of natural gas compression (Lobo Station, Middlesex Co., Ontario)
  • Capacity: Increase of 527 million cubic feet per day (approximately 550,000 gigajoules per day)
  • Project Completion Date: Fall, 2011

Western Canada Expansion Projects

North Maxhamish Loop

  • Location: NW of Fort Nelson, BC (Horn River basin region)
  • Length: 37 km of 24" pipe
  • Projected Completion Date: Spring 2010, subject to regulatory approval

South Peace Pipeline

  • Location: South Peace area of northeast BC
  • Length: 92.7 kilometres
  • Capacity: 221 mmcf/d
  • Projected In-service Date: Q3 2009
  • Cost: Approximately C$100 million

T North

  • Location: Taylor, BC - Gordondale, Alberta; and Taylor - Spectra Energy’s Station 2
  • Description: New compression at Gordonale to increase capacity eastbound and cooler modifications for westbound capacity from Spectra Energy’s McMahon gas processing plant
  • Projected Completion Date: November, 2010, compression in service Jan 2010.
  • Status: Regulatory Approval Received
